From the Sunshine Coast to you: Empress Athleticus' commitment to Australian manufacturing.
In the competitive world of activewear and intimates, Empress Athleticus remains steadfast in its commitment to Australian craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Founded by Brittany Lewin, the brand is committed to local manufacturing in an era where many brands seek production offshore.
Empress Athleticus is more than just activewear; it's a community. We're proudly Australian-made and owned. At a time when many are looking overseas, Empress Athleticus is committed to bringing jobs back home and importantly to women. We're not just creating activewear and intimates; we're giving women the opportunity to master a fading art: sewing. Through our brand, we aim to rekindle this age-old skill, ensuring it thrives in modern Australia.
Every step of the production process, from cutting and sewing to packaging and dispatching, happens in our Sunshine Coast warehouse. This hands-on approach not only guarantees exceptional quality but fosters a deeper connection to each garment and our community. “We have a Facebook Community of more than 6 thousand women, who share photos and their experiences with us and it’s a truly overwhelming experience to see the garments we created being loved and worn by these beautiful women.” Says Brittany.
What truly sets the Empress Athleticus apart is its commitment to inclusivity and adaptability. Though the general size range encompasses an already size inclusive 6-30 AU, Empress Athleticus recognises and celebrates the diversity of body shapes, offering customisations for those who seek it. “All bodies are beautiful and should be celebrated and accepted. For those who fall outside our sizing chart, or their garments aren't 100% perfect for them, we absolutely help. Everyone deserves clothes that fit them that are cute and comfortable”.
The Empress Athleticus community is both passionate and engaged. Each purchase represents a step towards slow fashion, sustainable practices, and bolstering local craftsmanship.
Brittany Lewin remarks, "We honestly wouldn’t change a thing about our decision to be Australian made. We believe in a sustainable fashion industry and we encourage more people and businesses to look local where they can.”
